Sustainability
Here at Rainbow Sweats we are conscious of climate change and the impact retail can have on global warming. As such we’ve taken the below measures to minimise the carbon footprint of each purchase:
-
Use a printing company Kornit (via Printful) whose printers produce almost zero wastewater and use less energy, lowering the carbon footprint of your purchase.
-
Printing to order as opposed to bulk printing. This avoids unsold items going to waste.
-
Reducing packaging for each order. Your product may not come in the prettiest of boxes with loads of bubblewrap, however whilst these things are nice, they ultimately are creating large amounts of harmful waste. We want to reduce the waste we create so have cut this out.

If you have any suggestions on things we can do to improve in this area, please let us know by using Contact Us page.
Payment
For your safety and security the peration and management of all payments is through Wix and Paypal.

If your card is authorised, payment will be taken immediately, appearing as RBOW SWEATS, and you will receive an email confirming that your order has been successful. Please ensure your email is entered correctly at checkout. If your card is not authorised, payment will not be taken, and we'll email to let you know your bank or card issuer wouldn't authorise the payment.
Please remember that even if a payment isn't authorised, for a short period of time it may look like money has left your account, as some card issuers may still briefly reserve the money.
Product Production
As soon as you click buy, we purchase each item individually ready for printing. Every item is then printed by someone specifically for you using the Direct to Garment (DTG) printing method.
With DTG, the ink is sprayed directly onto the garment, soaking into the fibres of the item. It’s a bit like printing on paper, except on clothing. This produces a smoother finish and allows for more intricate designs than some other methods such as screen printing. Printing one item at a time also helps with sustainability as it reduces product wastage.

As each item is stretched on a printing machine by hand, and our all over designs are cut out individually, there can be minor nuances to the design as it comes off the press. Items are quality checked before sending, however if you consider there to be a major defect with your item please let us know and we can arrange a replacement.

Because the ink is injected directly into the fibres, the designs may come out slightly darker than the digital images on your screen. This is because your screen creates colours through lights whilst your actual design is created by a matte ink. If your design is printed onto a dark coloured t-shirt, this will will naturally darken the colour of the print slightly, particularly on red, maroon and similar coloured items. This won't have any significant impact on the look of your t-shirt and we are confident you will still be happy with your purchases. If you want the brightest possible appearance we recommend purchasing a white or lighter coloured option.

Below is how the logo shall appear on the sleeve more clearly. we have placed it here to not reduce the impact of the great designs on the front of your clothing.

How we Make Money
We want to be as transparent as possible with you, so you can understand where your money goes when you make a purchase. We have tried to keep prices down as much as possible for you, but also want to ensure we can commit to quality, sustainable products that provide those creating them an adequate wage.

We have big ambitions for expansion here at Rainbow Sweats, but being a start-up, right now we are at the mercy of some bigger companies for operation and delivery right now.

For a £22.99 t-shirt:
-
Cost of garment and hand printing: £15.89
-
Marketing Costs: Average £0.25 - 1.00 per Google Search ad click (not sale)
-
Shipping: £3.15 - £5.38 (first item, price depending on country)
As you can see, the amount we make per item is little. However we are doing this ultimately to help promote visibility and support of the LGBTQ+ community in sports and fitness, so right now are happy with this. As we expand we hope to be able to increase the percentage we can give to charity and product range we can offer to you.
